Brighten up your classic game boy with a RIPS V5 IPS screen kit from Hispeedido.
The pack includes the LCD panel, driver board, connecting ribbons and button board.
Once installed you can enjoy fantastic picture clarity with no screen tearing.
Using the toggle wheel on the side of the game boy you will be able to change the screens colour, a total of 36 colour palette options are available to choose from.
NOTE:
You will need to solder the speaker to the button board provided with the kit, this is the only soldering required.
In addition to soldering you will also need a housing shell (IPS ready shell or modify your own) with standard screen lens and a centering bracket to install this kit.
This version of rips kit provides the original size display once installed, meaning no special screen lens is required to see the full width and height of the new screen.
Other items needed which are not included: Modified console housing, centering bracket, basic tools to fit this screen, soldering iron, non of these items are included.
To install this upgrade you will need to modify the console housing slightly, which you can do yourself by cutting your own shell to make the room for the LCD.
You will need to have some patience and good electronics skills to fit this kit.
Please note that the LCD screen and ribbon cable require care to install and are fragile in nature, they are also more susceptible to damage once installed if the console is dropped, LCD screens can crack under pressure or with a impact, our warranty does not cover accidental / user damage of any components in this kit. Replacement parts will be available to purchase separately in the near future.
