Shell cutting is required to access the USB C port on this mod.
The USB C charging board kit from Giltesa uses the TP4056 and DW01A IC to provide a battery charging solution for the Game Boy Pocket.
The two IC used providing charging of a lipo battery and discharge protection to protect the lifespan of the battery cell.
This kit includes three boards, the main charging board, a USB C board, an an optional LED board which requires some additional cable wiring.
The LED board has three status colours, White whilst powered on and playing, Red whilst charging and Green when fully charged.
Also included is a battery cable, LED board cable and LED diffuser (two additional small cables are provided to connect the LED board if your GBP model does not have a red LED)
This board has been designed to work with the original voltage regulator supporting 2 and 4.6V, this board provides a voltage of between 2.75 and 4.2V, within the range of the original regulator. If you opt to change the regulator you should make sure it will fit with this board also installed and also check the voltages are compatible to avoid any issues or damage to the game boy console.
